Who we are
Back in 1879, the Compañia Vinicola del Norte de España was founded and the first wines were labelled with the initials C.V.N.E. Soon afterwards however, a lucky typo made the V a U, resulting in the creation of the iconic “Cune” brand, a name which very much stuck and can still be found proudly displayed on the labels of these Rioja wines all over the world.
140 years later, C.V.N.E. and Cune wines are still led by the descendants of the founders who ensure these wines are carefully crafted to be delicious, easy-drinking and elegant, truly the modern expression of traditional Rioja winemaking. The Cune range offers a wine for every palate and at home in Spain, our Crianza is the best-selling wine of its type but Cune’s wines can be found all over the world. Using the colours of the Spanish flag in our logo, we consider ourselves truly the ambassadors of Spanish wine, offering a taste of Spain wherever the wines are enjoyed.
